Comparison

Quick answer
Ro Sparks costs $12 a dose ($48 a month on the smallest plan), against $4 a dose for Ro's own FDA-approved generic sildenafil and $3.53 a tablet for BlueChew SIL. Sparks is a compounded drop that dissolves under the tongue; Ro's page says it is "Not FDA-approved" (Ro). Our top-scored program overall is Ro. Prices checked October 31, 2026.

Below: what Sparks is, what it costs at every plan size, how it compares with BlueChew, Hims mints and plain generic tablets, and who might still choose it. Ro's full plan list and record are in our Ro review.

What Ro Sparks is

Sparks combines the active ingredients of Viagra and Cialis, sildenafil and tadalafil, in one sublingual drop. Ro describes it as "a compounded treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED) that contains the active ingredients in Viagra (sildenafil) and Cialis (tadalafil) into a single sublingual drop." Its safety box adds: "Compounded drugs are permitted to be prescribed under federal law, but are not FDA-approved and do not undergo FDA safety, effectiveness, or manufacturing review." (Ro Sparks page)

The FDA's general position is the same: "Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. This means that FDA does not verify the safety, effectiveness or quality of compounded drugs before they are marketed." (FDA: compounding questions and answers)

So Sparks pairs two well-studied drugs in a form and combination that no regulator has reviewed. The strengths in each drop are listed on Ro's pricing page; we leave doses to the prescriber.

What Sparks costs, plan by plan

Ro sells Sparks in four monthly plans, all at the same price per dose. Figures below are quoted from Ro's pricing page on October 31, 2026; the per-dose column is our arithmetic.

Plan Doses a month Monthly price Per dose
4x dose plan 4 $48 $12
6x dose plan 6 $72 $12
8x dose plan 8 $96 $12
10x dose plan 10 $120 $12

There is no volume discount: ten doses cost two and a half times four doses. The online visit, follow-up messaging and shipping are included, as for every Ro ED plan.

Ro Sparks vs the alternatives, per dose

The decision in one table. All prices are live from each program's own page; "compounded" means not FDA-approved.

Option What it is FDA status Lowest per dose Lowest monthly plan
Ro Sparks Sildenafil plus tadalafil drop Compounded $12 $48
Ro generic sildenafil Swallowed tablet FDA-approved $4 $32
Ro generic tadalafil Swallowed tablet FDA-approved $11 Not published
Ro branded Viagra Swallowed tablet FDA-approved $90 $360
BlueChew SIL Chewable or sublingual tablet Compounded $3.53 $20 entry plan
BlueChew GOLD Four-drug tablet Compounded $7.30 Not published
Hims Hard Mints Mint Compounded Not published $35
Strut generic sildenafil Swallowed tablet, 90-day supply FDA-approved $1.60 $16

Sparks costs about three times Ro's own entry generic per dose, and more than BlueChew's single-drug chew. It is cheaper per dose than branded Viagra by a wide margin, which is the comparison Ro's own page invites.

Ro Sparks vs BlueChew

Both are compounded and both are sold as faster alternatives to a swallowed pill. The differences:

  • Ingredients. Sparks is a two-drug drop. BlueChew sells single-drug chewables (SIL, TAD, VAR) and a four-drug GOLD tablet.
  • Price. BlueChew SIL and even the four-drug GOLD cost less per tablet than a Sparks dose.
  • Record. The FDA sent BlueChew a warning letter on September 9, 2025 over "same active as Viagra" claims (FDA letter to BlueChew). We found no FDA warning letter naming Ro.
  • Choice. Ro also sells FDA-approved generics on the same account; BlueChew sells only compounded products.

Ro Sparks vs Hims

Hims's nearest products are its compounded Hard Mints and sildenafil chews, from $35 a month. Hims does not publish a per-dose price or the dose count for those plans, so a per-dose comparison is not possible from its pages. Hims's headline ED plans are paid upfront in full; Ro's Sparks plans bill monthly. Hims also faces a pending lawsuit filed by the FTC, Utah and California on July 29, 2026 over billing, cancellation and health data; the claims are allegations (FTC press release).

The onset claim

Ro says Sparks works "in about 15 mins on avg. after dissolving" (Ro Sparks page) and that tadalafil keeps it active for up to a day and a half. The tadalafil part has a label behind it: the Cialis label says tadalafil "was shown to improve erectile function compared to placebo up to 36 hours following dosing" (DailyMed: Cialis label). The onset figure for the drop is Ro's own; no FDA review stands behind it.

Who might choose Sparks

  • Men who want one product that combines both drugs and accept that it is compounded.
  • Men who dislike swallowing pills.

Who should look elsewhere: anyone who wants an FDA-approved product, or the lowest price per dose. Ro's own generic sildenafil and tadalafil, or a 90-day generic plan elsewhere, cost less. If you already have a prescription, a cash pharmacy is cheaper still; see our Cost Plus Drugs guide.

Questions

FAQ

Ro Sparks review: is it worth the price?

Ro Sparks costs $12 a dose with the visit and shipping included. That is about three times Ro's entry generic sildenafil per dose and well below branded Viagra. Sparks is compounded and not FDA-approved. It suits men who want both drugs in one drop; for the lowest price on an approved drug, Ro's generics are cheaper.

Is Ro Sparks FDA approved?

No. Ro's own page labels Sparks "Compounded medication. Not FDA-approved." and says compounded drugs do not undergo FDA safety, effectiveness or manufacturing review. Sildenafil and tadalafil tablets are FDA-approved on their own, but this drop, which combines them, is not.

Is Ro Sparks better than BlueChew?

Neither has FDA review, so no regulator has compared them. Sparks combines two drugs in one drop at $12 a dose; BlueChew SIL is a single-drug sublingual tablet at $3.53 a tablet. BlueChew received an FDA warning letter in 2025 over its marketing; we found none naming Ro. Ro also sells FDA-approved generics on the same account.

Ro Sparks or Hims Hard Mints: which is cheaper?

Hims's mints start at $35 a month against $48 for four Sparks doses, but Hims does not publish how many mints that buys, so the per-dose cost cannot be compared from its pages. Both products are compounded. Hims bills its headline ED plans upfront in full.

Can Ro send a generic prescription to my own pharmacy instead?

Ro says you can use your own pharmacy instead of its pharmacy network. For plain generic sildenafil or tadalafil, a cash pharmacy price is often far below any program's price. Sparks itself is compounded by Ro's partner pharmacy, so it is not something a local pharmacy can fill from the same prescription.

Are Ro reviews good?

Ro scores 3.9 out of 5 from more than 7,500 reviews on Trustpilot, as read on October 31, 2026. Ro's Sparks page also shows its own star rating, collected by Ro. Our review scores Ro on price, transparency, care, access and reputation, with every source linked.
